Adelante Mujeres2420 19th Ave. IDA Specialist: Alison Brown Adelante Mujeres is a non-profit organization based in Forest Grove that provides education and small business development support services to low-income Latino families throughout Washington County. Adelante offers these services through three main programs: Adelante Empresas, a comprehensive small business development project that provides training, support and networking for low-income Latinos entrepreneurs, an Adult Education Program which offers classes for low-income Latina women, readying them to obtain their GEDs, improve their English skills, and enhance their self-esteem and leadership capacities and, finally, the Forest Grove Farmers Market which is managed by Adelante Mujeres as part of the Micro Enterprise Program which focuses on small scale sustainable farming. These three programs, along with strong community partnerships, allow us to provide small business, post-secondary education and employment-related adaptive equipment, technology or specialized training IDAs to individuals currently participating in our programs.
African American Alliance for Homeownership 825 NE 20th Avenue, Suite 225 IDA Specialist: Ardelia Gipson
AAAH is a community-based organization comprised of housing resource professionals. AAAH stimulates home buying activities through our Homebuyer Coaching Project, The Homebuyer Education/Certification Classes, The IDA Program, and our annual Homebuyer Fair. All services are offered free to the public and we are an equal housing opportunity organization. Black United Fund of Oregon2828 NE Alberta St. IDA Specialist: Adrienne Livingston or Christian Kofi Since 1983, the Black United Fund has served more than 700 community agencies. We fund organizations that address issues such as social justice, poverty, youth empowerment and economic sustainability. In 1994, our ACCESS (Achieving College Competency and Educational Success for Students) scholarship fund was established to recognize students for their academic performance, leadership, and community service. With the cost of tuition rising and more students relying on loans, we expanded our scholarship program to include training workshops where aspiring students can learn how to identify scholarship opportunities and compose compelling personal essays. We will also discussing budgeting and finances while in college. Our goal is to provide 250 high school students in the 2008-2009 school year with these informative workshops. Students that attend the workshops would be eligible to apply to the Educational IDA. Bradley-Angle HousePO Box 14694 IDA Specialist: Missy Kloos The mission of Bradley-Angle House is to offer survivors of domestic and sexual violence options for safety, self-empowerment, healing and hope, while collaborating with our communities to create social change. We envision a world free of domestic violence where all people are treated with dignity and respect. We offer IDAs through The Transition Services department, which provides long-term supportive services, connection with community resources and skill-based educational opportunities to help participants develop external resources and supports once crisis situations are stabilized. Programs focus on the development of greater emotional and economic independence, long-term stability and strengthened family units.
Clackamas Community Land Trust2316 SE Willard Street IDA Specialist: Loretta L. Walker CCLT provides permanently affordable homeownership opportunities and supportive educational resources to people of moderate means. CCLT develops and preserves affordable homeownership opportunities in Clackamas County. We also provide Homeownership Education and Financial Literacy programs. CCLT offers Individual Development Accounts through VIDA for income qualified persons wanting to save money for the purchase of their first home. Clackamas County Social Services2051 Kaen Rd. IDA Specialist: Joanne Desky Clackamas County Social Services is a multi-service organization for low-income citizens of Clackamas County. Through a partnership with the Housing Authority of Clackamas County, we are able to offer IDA enrollment and case management to residents of public housing in Clackamas County. These IDA accounts can be used to buy a home, pursue an education, or to support a small business.

Housing Authority of Portland - GOALS Program1605 NE 45th Avenue IDA Specialist: Eva Erickson, Goals Coordinator Housing Authority of Portland is committed to providing safe, decent and affordable housing to individuals and families in Multnomah County, Oregon, who face income or other life challenges. HAP offers support through a wide variety of programs and services that promote stability and self-sufficiency. We help usher our residents into a new life, assisting many on a path toward economic independence and, in some cases, home ownership. Our organization offers following 2 asset-goals:
Lutheran Community Services NW605 SE 39th Ave. IDA Specialist: Raymond Wikle Our organization is a non-profit social service agency. Our Mission Statement proclaims that “Lutheran Community Services Northwest partners with individuals, families and communities for Health, Justice and Hope” and it also is the guiding principle for all services delivered by LCSNW. Within the Portland Metro area our office focuses on delivery of services to an extremely diverse community. For this reason LCSNW has worked to assemble a staff that is culturally diverse and competent. At present more than 35 languages are represented by the staff of the LCSNW Portland office. Through the VIDA program LCSNW is working to provide assistance for the following asset goals: 1) first time homeownership; 2) small business development; 3) post-secondary education; and 4) youth IDAs.
Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon2828 NE Alberta St. IDA Specialist: Nita Shah To assist in the development of viable businesses that pursue growth opportunities, create jobs, and restore economic balance among minorities and other underserved groups for the benefit of the greater community. Our asset goals are increasing revenue, increasing net profit and increasing assets over a period of time. New Avenues for Youth1220 SW Columbia Ave. IDA Specialist: Josh Laurie The mission of New Avenues for Youth is to help every youth reach their fullest potential by offering a continuum of outcome-based services that empower homeless youth to exit street life and that prevent other youth from becoming homeless. Asset Goal: Education/Job Training Northwest Oregon Housing Authority147 S. Main Ave. IDA Specialist: Helen L. McClaine Northwest Oregon Housing Authority (NOHA) has been providing Housing Choice Vouchers for low income families living in Clatsop, Columbia, and Tillamook Counties since 1976. Beginning in October 1994, NOHA began offering the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program to its clients. Since that time, we have had two people purchase homes subsequent to their participation in the FSS Program. We have a current caseload of 40 in the FSS Program. Some are pursuing home ownership, others education, and still others the development of a small business. NOHA will be working in conjunction with Clatsop Community Action to broaden our target base to qualifying families and individuals throughout Clatsop County who are not utilizing NOHA’s services. Together we will be providing support for Home Ownership, Education, and Small Business IDAs.
Oregon Microenterprise Network (OMEN)1220 SW Morrison Suite 805 OMEN’s mission is to help Oregon’s smallest businesses succeed, by increasing opportunities for economically and geographically disadvantaged entrepreneurs. OMEN is a statewide association of small business service providers, microenterprise practitioners and community-based organizations. OMEN does not directly provide IDA's to individuals but works with small business/microenterprise development organizations in rural areas through the IDA program. Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives, Inc.6329 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. IDA Specialist: Charles Funches SERVING RESIDENTS ONLY Preserve, expand and manage affordable housing in the City of Portland and provide access to and advocacy for services for our residents. Homeownership IDA’s are provided to PCRI residents. REACH CDC1135 SE Salmon Street IDA Specialist: Julie Wang SERVING RESIDENTS ONLY REACH is a private, nonprofit community development corporation with a mission to develop and maintain a permanent resource of affordable housing, promote healthy neighborhoods, and provide opportunities for low-income people through partnerships and community involvement. REACH has developed or preserved 1,224 units of rental housing for low-income residents of Portland. Seventy-nine percent of the people we serve earn 30% or less of median income. REACH provides IDA’s for Home Ownership, Education, and Small Business for residents of our housing only.
Washington County Department of Housing Services111 NE Lincoln St., #200-L, MS 63 IDA Specialist: Cheryl Whited The Department of Housing Services offers rental assistance to low-income households through various federally funded programs, and also creates affordable housing opportunities in the community for low and moderate income households through a combination of creative financing and partnerships with public and private entities to encourage self-sufficiency, skill enhancement and independence. We offer IDAs to eligible Section 8 and Public Housing program participants who are actively enrolled in the Department’s Family Self-Sufficiency program and meet earned income requirements for the purpose of a first time home purchase. |
